We partner with executives and boards of nonprofit organizations to achieve clarity, direction, and alignment that paves the way for an organization’s success. We’re not the type of consultants that parachute in to “fix” your problems.  

Rather, we work with our clients side-by-side and partner together to develop solutions that will fit their unique culture, needs, and goals.  We focus on helping our clients create sustainable and transformational change, so they benefit from our work long after our project is over.

Jen Lachman is committed to creating stronger, bolder, and more impactful nonprofit organizations.  In 2013, Jen launched Lachman Consulting to provide strategic planning, leadership development, and facilitation services to individuals and groups that are working to create positive change in the world. Jen is most fulfilled when she's supporting and challenging nonprofit leaders and teams to make changes that perhaps scare them the most, but will transform the impact that they have on the people and the missions they serve.  Jen has had the joy and honor of doing this work with a variety of incredible clients, and as lead faculty for Exponent Philanthropy’s Coaching for Effective Philanthropy Program and the 2014-15 Future ED Fellowship Program.

Prior to founding Lachman Consulting, Jen served as the Executive Director of MAG America, where she dodged landmines (literally and figuratively) while building a team, board, and organization from the ground up.  Jen is a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC) and a graduate of Georgetown University’s Executive Certificate Program in Organizational Consulting and Change Leadership.  In her spare time, Jen can be found on her yoga mat, adventuring with her husband, or volunteering as a Board Member at the wonderful Carpenter’s Shelter.

Sonya Robbins Hoffmann is passionate about capacity-building work, specifically serving the nonprofit sector. She comes to Lachman Consulting with nearly fifteen years of management experience in the arts and education sectors, most often being hired to initiate or overhaul programs.  Her work is now focused in a variety of areas including strategic planning, client management and new client development.  Sonya feels incredibly fortunate to work in partnership with smart and driven nonprofit leaders and particularly enjoys helping clients envision ways to strengthen organizational culture.  

Sonya is also co-founder of ArtfulEducation, where she works exclusively with arts and education clients in order to measure, message, and design programs that seek to impact creative learning both for children and adults.  Sonya holds a Secondary Education and is also a graduate of Georgetown’s Non-Profit Management Executive Certificate Program.  When she isn’t strategizing with clients, she loves spending time with her three children, hiking in the Shenandoah Mountains, or volunteering as a Board Member for the PTSO at Woodrow Wilson High School in the District of Columbia.
